The
Wynyard Golf Club is a place to relax and make new friends and
of course it is the only place in our town where you can enjoy a
game of golf on a well kept course whilst taking in the breathtaking
surrounds.
The modern club house is available to members for private functions,
meetings, weddings, and birthday parties and it is also a great
place for corporate meetings, perhaps combined with a game of golf
to reward or reinvigorate some or all of your valued members of
staff.
Why not call in or phone our friendly staff to obtain additional
information and find out how very reasonable our private and corporate
rates are. All new members are made to feel very welcome!
At the Club, you're sure to meet a bunch of friendly and hospitable
people who are all keen to make your game a pleasant and most memorable
experience.
Visitors will soon learn that we are are keen to make them feel
most welcome and if the need arises, golf buggies and motorised
carts are available for hire.
We are happy to see you and your friends enjoy our truly unique
surrounds.
The Wynyard Golf Links are located on a type of ‘peninsula’ created
by Bass Strait on its northern border and the River Inglis creating
its southern boundary.
You see, we will give you the chance to lose your ball in the sea,
the river or amongst some very fine trees that line some of our
challenging fairways!
The clubhouse has a large and comfortable lounge area and it overlooks
the first tee and if you allow your eyes to wander through the large
window and down the beautiful fairway, you may at times spot large
ships on the horizon crossing the view just above the green of the
first hole.
Indeed if you are extremely lucky, even the odd whale may be spotted
from the tee beds or the fairways of our second and third holes.
At the third green, Fossil Bluff looms just above and beside you.
It is a sandstone Bluff, with layers of fossils encased in the stone.
This Bluff was beneath the sea in the Oligocene geological period
about 38 million years ago. Some of the layers of sandstone are
rich in fossils, while others are not, showing the different climatic
conditions that occurred during the millions of years of the Oligocene
period.
The tee bed of the ‘Fourth’ will allow you to look over the clubhouse
and across the Inglis river toward Wynyard’s business centre, by
car just three minutes away.
